Where to see Elephants: Amboseli National Park Safari
If elephants are your thing, you have to experience Amboseli Park. Known as the best spot in Africa to see great herds of big-tusked elephants on parade. We’ll head south to the Tanzania border with the beacon of Mt. Kilimanjaro guiding our way as we take in the glorious African sunrise.
Once in the park, you are guaranteed to see elephant families marching before the majestic backdrop of Kilimanjaro. We’ll also be looking for lion, cheetah, buffalo, giraffe, and more. Breakfast, lunch, and lots of game drives are included in this total discovery adventure.
Lake Naivasha, Crescent Island & Hell’s Gate Park Safari
Who wouldn’t want to visit a place called Hell’s Gate? Named for its intense geothermal activity of geysers and hot springs, the park also offers one-of-a-kind bicycling safaris! Yes, you can pedal past grazing gazelle, zebra, giraffe, and more.
But that’s just one of the three parks we’ll explore. Lake Naivasha is a stunning high-elevation lake filled with hippos and exotic birds that we’ll sail by on a boating safari. And, pretty, little Crescent Island is a private sanctuary that is filled with wildebeest, waterbuck, zebra, hippo, and birds like cormorants and pelicans. We’ll take a guided walking tour amongst this colorful menagerie. That’s four safaris we will pack into this one-day – Jeep game drives, sailing, bicycling, and trekking. To keep you going we’ve arranged an included buffet lunch at the Naivasha Sopa Resort.
See the big 5 at Ol Pejeta Conservancy Safari
We’ll be up early for this adventure but it’s worth it. Ol Pejeta Conservancy is a special refuge for chimpanzees and rhinos. It’s the only place in Kenya where you can see chimps, protected, and nursed back to good health. Rhinos too!
The Conservancy is the closest place to Nairobi where you can find all of Africa’s Big Five – lion, leopard, buffalo, rhino, and elephant. So, there will be lots of wildlife to track during this day of adventure and quieter moments observing the chimps and rhinos. Of special note: on our voyage out to the park, we’ll catch views of snow-capped Mt. Kenya and also mark the unique moment when we cross the equator.

Lake Nakuru, Lake Naivasha, & Crescent Island Safari
One of the prettiest parks anywhere, Lake Nakuru National Park is a picturesque blend of acacia forest, waterfalls, and the blue alkaline waters of the lake. You’ll be entertained by the pelicans, kingfishers, ostriches, and sometimes flocks of dazzling pink flamingoes harboring the shores.
This is another great spot for rhino spotting – the sanctuary here protects great herds of endangered black rhinos. And if all this natural wonder wasn’t enough, your tour serves up more wildlife encounters at nearby Lake Naivasha, and the private island enclave of Crescent Island, where you’ll finish the day with a guided walking safari.
